You can enjoy a free audio guide introducing the museum's architecture and artworks.

The audio guide is available in multiple languages (Japanese, English, Korean, and Chinese).

When you visit, please scan the QR code with your smartphone or other device.

We do not provide earphones or headphones, so please bring your own.

If you are coming by train

Approximately 15 minutes on foot from Yufuin Station on the JR Kyushu Kyudai Line (JR九州久大本線).

If you take a taxi from the station

About 5 minutes by taxi from Yufuin Station

By car

From Yufuin IC, follow Prefectural Route 216 towards Yufuin for about 7 minutes.

From Beppu, follow Prefectural Route 216 towards Yufuin for about 40 minutes.

From Oita, follow National Route 210 towards Yufuin for about 60 minutes.

*Regarding bus use, unfortunately there is no nearby bus stop that you can use.

*You can enter without a reservation if there are openings in the viewing time and capacity.

Advance booking

One electronic ticket will be issued for each reservation. Please keep it well as you will need it upon entry.
Changes cannot be made after a reservation has been completed. If you wish to make a change, please cancel your current reservation and make a new reservation. For details on cancellations, please see the cancellation policy .

Advance reservations are given priority at this museum.
We recommend making an online reservation in advance for a smoother visit.

Once your online reservation is complete, you will receive an e-ticket (QR code) required for admission.
Please present your e-ticket upon arrival to complete the admission process.

Please note that visitors without a reservation may still be admitted depending on same-day availability.
During busy periods, you may be required to wait or admission may not be possible.

How to enter

When you arrive at the Museum, please come to the reception counter.

After checking your e-ticket (QR code) at the reception counter, you will be given your admission ticket.

We also have lockers available for you to use to store your luggage.

E-tickets are valid only on the day of purchase.
As we do not have a waiting room, please come at the reserved time on the day. Please note that you may not be able to enter the museum if the viewing time has passed.

Requests for admission

To protect the museum environment and exhibits, please refrain from the following actions
We ask for your understanding and cooperation so that all visitors can enjoy the exhibition in the best possible environment.

Prohibited acts within the building

Touching or leaning on exhibited artworks, including outdoor artworks, burnt cedar(yakisugi), glass, etc.
Food and drink (including candy and gum)
Excessive continuous photography, flash photography, videography, and audio recording that interfere with the viewing experience
Making calls and using electronic devices that make noise (please set them to silent)
Loud conversation
Dangerous behavior such as running or jumping
Use of ballpoint pens, mechanical pencils, fountain pens, etc. (pencils available for loan)
Smoking on the premises, including e-cigarettes
Entering the facility while under the influence of alcohol
Pets allowed inside the facility (excluding assistance dogs)

Items that cannot be brought into the building

*Please leave your belongings in a coin locker.

Food and drink, including plastic bottles and souvenirs
Tripod, selfie stick
Umbrellas (Umbrella placed in the facility can be used in case of rain)
Large luggage (if it does not fit in the coin lockers, we will store it at the reception)
